Amanda and Ryan’s relationship bloomed pretty much as soon as he moved to South Carolina.  As Amanda tells it-

Ryan and I met not even 2 months after he moved to SC. We met online. Our first date was to dinner for his 30th birthday. I told him I could not let him spend his 30th birthday alone, so we went to San Jose.

From there, their relationship got more serious, they got a puppy together and you could tell on the wedding day how perfectly compatible these two are for each other!  The engagement story goes-

Ryan and I took Arya (our Doberman puppy) to Saluda Shoals. When we were crossing a bridge Ryan asked me to hold Arya’s leash. When I turned around to see what Ryan was doing, he was pulling out the ring box. He then said, “So ya wanna get married.”  

Simple and sweet!  The wedding day started with Amanda getting ready at Union United Methodist Church where the ceremony was held.  

The reception was held at Riverbanks Zoo’s Ndoki Lodge.  Just walking up to the reception we heard the seals barking at each other, watched the elephants munching on dinner, said hello to Patrick the gorilla and even petted a pair of alpacas that had been hanging out with the guests at the Lodge.  What a fun place for a wedding reception!

I love bringing the ambiance of the tiki lights and lush garden greenery into Amanda and Ryan’s romantic night portraits.

The couple did their final farewell outside the zoo’s front gates to the guest waving Clemson colored ribbon wands!
