If you were in Columbia, South Carolina in Fall of 2015, you remember the heavy flooding we had due to a storm dumping non-stop rain. Nicolette & Josh remember that as their wedding weekend! The wedding ceremony was held at St David’s Lutheran Church in West Columbia. We were worried about the impending rain but were able to get a break before the ceremony to take some first look and bridal party photos before the weather got rough.
Family was a big part of the wedding day. When I asked Nikki what she enjoyed most about the wedding day, she said-
I think my favorite part of the day was seeing everything come together and seeing all of our family and friends having a great time! Some other favorites was the locket with the picture of my grandparents in my bouquet. My grandparents passed away many years ago so it was special to have them beside me as my Dad walked me down the aisle.
Watching the rain get harder and harder through the big windows at Saluda River Club was pretty exciting. We found a little break in the rain to take the couple out and do some creative photos with the umbrella! Thank goodness the rain didn’t start 24 hours earlier, because we heard that Sunday the Saluda River had risen up to the edge the clubhouse!
I asked Nicolette about things she was really glad she did…
I enjoyed doing the “first look.” I debated back and forth on this but I’m glad we did this and had this time together just the two of us. I would tell new brides (based on my experience) that rain, even a flood, on your wedding day won’t ruin it! Everything was will be just as perfect if you allow it and the memories we will always remember forever! Oh and that they should use Palmetto Duo for photography 🙂
This was a beautiful Saluda River Club wedding despite the rain! It was an exciting weekend and one that they’re sure to always remember! Congratulations Nicolette & Josh!

This was such a beautiful wedding. We had the pleasure of bartending for both the rehearsal and the reception and they were truly a wonderful group of people who made the best of some of the worst weather we’ve ever witnessed. Great job capturing the moments Dave and Katie!
Thanks for doing a great job too Allen! I just added you to the vendor list. You guys rock! 🙂
