It was such an honor to be a part of Ashton & Joseph’s wedding process from the proposal to the big day!  Joseph had planned a surprise proposal with Ashton’s friends Katie and Brandon.  He made plans with Katie so that at the bouquet toss at Katie’s wedding, instead of tossing the bouquet, she’d turn around and hand it to Ashton.  When Ashton turned around, Joseph was on one knee with the engagement ring!  Surprise!  What a great proposal!  Since Dave and I were shooting Katie & Brandon’s wedding, we got photos of the whole proposal!  Here’s a few highlights from the big moment!

Fast forward 9 months and it’s time for Ashton & Joseph’s wedding!  We started the day with some getting ready photos at 1208 Washington Street.  I love Ashton’s bold lipstick!

The flower girls had fun testing out their new dresses!

We moved over to First Baptist of Columbia to get ready for the ceremony at Boyce Chapel.  The church grounds have so many beautiful spots for photos!

These two are just too sweet.  You can see how perfect they are together even in the rush of a wedding day.  There’s always laughter, hugs, and a thoughtful tenderness between them!

1208 Washington Place is a 1920’s bank converted to a reception venue and it’s one of my favorite new venues because it’s classy, elegant, unique and I can sneak upstairs for an aerial view of the first dances!  Ashton & Joseph made their reception entrance through the revolving doors at the front of the room!

You can tell that Ashton has been working out because her bouquet toss launched the flowers into the chandelier!
