Jenna & Alex had been planning their wedding long distance since the couple lives in Maryland, but the bride’s family was here in South Carolina.  I knew everything would be great though, since they had the talented Melanie Murphy from By Invitation Only to help with the wedding plans!  I started the wedding day with Jenna at the Hilton Hotel where the girls were getting hair and makeup done.  The deep blue bridesmaids dresses looked great with Jenna’s shoe pick- comfortable and casual silver sandals.  

Southern Way had lots of yummies for the guests to enjoy over cocktail hour, but Jenna’s mom seemed most excited about the bacon bar. She said, “Our Northern friends are going to think we’ve gone crazy!” Crazy delicious! The chefs cooked up 3 varieties of bacon- sweet, spicy and chocolate. Who can resist bacon? Not me, so of course I had to try the variations. Sweet, brown sugar covered bacon was my personal favorite!

There were so many pretty details in the reception area it was hard not to get carried away with photos.  Jenna, her mom Cyndy, and Melanie Murphy and her team with By Invitation Only did a great job of making it all come together. Everything from the menus, to the flowers in the windows, to the personalized photos on each table, made the room absolutely gorgeous!

I learned a new word at Jenna’s wedding- sabrage, which is a technique of opening a bottle of champagne with a sabor sword.  This has become a traditional for Jenna’s family at special occasions so Jenna’s mom, Cyndy, did the honors.

The couple departed through a romantic sparkler exit.
