Kelly & Dan’s Springdale House Wedding

I met Kelly a few years back when I photographed a wedding at the Columbia Conference Center.  Kelly is the Social Events Manager at that venue and ever since then, we’ve spent time hanging out at wedding vendor events and I have always admired her amazing makeup skills and selfie game on instagram (I’m not kidding- she takes the prettiest selfies!)  I first met Dan at a vendor party two years ago and I can still remember thinking how great those two were together and how much Dan made Kelly laugh and smile.  I was so honored and excited when Kelly asked Dave and I to photograph their wedding!  

Their engagement session (including a stop at Carolina Ale House) was a blast and Kelly’s bridal portrait session in Blythewood was gorgeous, but it’s the wedding day that we’ve all been looking forward to for so long.  

I started the wedding day with Kelly and her girls at the Springdale House.

Kelly’s friend and Maid of Honor Chelsea did her stunning makeup and was also Mother of the adorable flowergirl.

I love the gold belts that Kelly picked to accent the deep purple colored dresses.  She had gotten gold bracelets for the girls and was sweet enough to even get one for me!  How thoughtful!

We did a first look with Kelly’s Dad and took a few family photos and bridesmaid groups at the Springdale House.

While the girls and I were hanging out at the Springdale House, Dave was at the church with Dan and his gentlemen.  That’s one of the wonderful parts about having two photographers is that we can be in two places at once!

Kelly’s brother and co-officiant of the ceremony led the group in a prayer before the wedding.

The flower girl had a little show of her own, taking off her shoes and posing in front of the bride and groom.  That’s what I love about 3 year olds in the wedding party.  You never know what you’re going to get but you can bet, it’ll be adorable!

The couple had a classic car to transport them in style from the wedding to the reception.

Kelly has so many talented friends.  Her bridesmaid, Carolina, made these beautiful etched glasses as wedding favors for the guests!

Another benefit of two photographers- while I was getting a closeup photo of Dan & Kelly’s kiss after the cake cutting, Dave was getting a wide photo from above that showed them and their guests in the crowd.  Gotta love teamwork!

It’s amazing how much of the Springdale House gardens were in bloom even though it’s fall so of course we had to sneak away for a few more portraits among the lush greenery and flowers.  These ended up being some of my favorite photos of the day!

This photo cracks me up because Kelly is having such a great time and Dan was just trying not to get bubbles in his mouth!  I really love these two!
