It’s been a pleasure getting to know Stacey & Rocky over the past year. They’re such easy going people and when you see them, it’s so natural, that you’d think they’d been together all their lives. But it takes a little time to build that rock solid foundation. Stacey and Rocky were friends in high school and dated some in 2009 but they had opposite work shifts so the relationship never really went any further. But when things are meant to be, they always find a way. In 2015, Rocky talked Stacey into meeting up again for another date. And in Stacey’s words “we haven’t been apart since!”
For the proposal, everything didn’t quite go as planned. As Stacey tells it,
A group of us went to the sandbar down the river for a day of swimming and cooking. Well, the weather started to turn into a storm and we were rushing around taking tents down and loading up boats and then he says “Stacey” (now have in mind i’m in “theres a storm coming mode”) so I hollered “WHAT!” as im trying to take a tent apart when he says again, “Stacey, turn around” and when I did he was on his knees with everyone behind him with their cameras and one of our songs on in the background!!
Yay! Happy ending! Or beginning depending on how you think of it!
Dave and I started the wedding day with the bridal party getting ready at the picturesque Farm at Ridgeway.
I was a cool, breezy day but we were so grateful to have the colorful fall leaves as a portrait backdrop!
First look with Dad was a special moment.
Stacey was up until 2am the night before the wedding painting this lovely signature tree. It was a lot of work but what an amazing keepsake to have! Stacey’s grandfather was the first one to sign the tree and he said since he was the Grandpa, he’d better sign the trunk of the tree!
The young ring bearer got a kick out of watching the cars arrive at the wedding and trying to trap people’s fingers in the snapping ring box. So cute!
Nothing like a fist bump and some flower pumping to get you ready to walk down the aisle.
The evening ceremony by the fireplace was magical!
We walked over to the fields for some fun photos with the bridal party. The stunning sunset colored the sky for the bride and groom photos!
After some very loving speeches, the couple enjoyed the lovely cake provided by Bonnie Brunt cakes.
Congratulations Stacey & Rocky!
