Someone knew from the beginning that Leslie Clare and Colin, whose wedding was this past week, were a perfect match.  Leslie Clare’s best friend and her fiance saw that these two seemed like they would really hit it off, and they’d been trying to set them up for two years. Finally at her best friend’s wedding, Leslie Clare met Colin for the first time and guess what, they were exactly right!  They have been together ever since!

Since Colin is in the Army, he and Leslie Clare have always lived different places, but that didn’t keep them from building a close relationship.

We have always been in a long distance relationship, we have never lived in the same area. We are very different in a lot of ways, he is from New York and I am from South Carolina. However, he loves barbecue and sweet tea and I love going to Broadway shows and walking around Manhattan. We both love traveling and exploring new cities. We also like outdoorsy adventures like hiking through rain forests and skiing.

They were out on one of their outdoorsy adventures when Colin popped the question.  As Leslie Clare describes the proposal,

We went for a short hike at Congaree National Park. After the hike, we went to a picnic table area and he presented me with a scrapbook with pictures from our past year together. In the back cover, he had fixed a wooden box with “Will You Marry Me” written on it and the ring inside. He gave me his grandmother’s diamond, it was very special.

The wedding day started with Leslie Clare getting ready at the church where her father in the rector, Church of the Good Shepherd in downtown Columbia.

Since the groomsmen braved the cold to get some photos outside the church, the bridesmaids decided to do the same!

There were no photos allowed during the wedding ceremony, but I had a beautiful view of Leslie Clare about to walk down the aisle with her Father and the happy couple just married!

The dance floor was crowded for the last dances, but I find the happy couple quietly dancing alone in a corner.  So sweet.

Leslie Clare and Colin left to a sparkler exit and jumped in their red convertible.  Yes it was a cold December night but these two had love to keep them warm!  Congratulations Leslie Clare and Colin!
