Katlyn & Patrick worked together at the burger and custard restaurant, Culvers, in the upstate and when Patrick popped the question on restaurant’s electronic sign, Katlyn said yes! You can see more of their love story and photos from their engagement sessions here.  They planned to have an outdoor weddings with some throwbacks to how they got engaged (yes, there’s custard in this story), but rain snuck into the forecast and put a little damper on their original plans.  Fortunately, since they planned their wedding day at the Springdale House, Katlyn and Patrick had the option to move the ceremony inside so everyone stayed dry.  I love the curved layout of the ceremony chairs inside the reception hall.

Lacy dress detail and wedding hankerchief...

These invites designed by Lindsay Colvin at ByFarr are gorgeous!

In order to spend more time with their guests after the ceremony, Katlyn and Patrick decided to do a first look.  I love being able to capture those beautiful moments when they first see each other!

Since the rain had stopped for a while, we decided to take a few portraits around the grounds and with family in front of the house.

The little ring bearer and flower girl were the cutest!  We even got them to hold hands for a few seconds!

I can honestly say, this is the first wedding ceremony that included a quote from the movie Rocky.  Those were some epic wedding vows, Patrick!

I was warned ahead of time that the first dance would contain a surprise.  After a few minutes of the typical slow dance, some faster music came on and Patrick took off his jacket to reveal a custom made Clemson dress shirt!  This was the talk of the reception. They had seen a similar one at a friend’s wedding, so they found the lady that made it on etsy and sent her a regular shirt and the Clemson fabric.

The couple’s friends from Culvers put together a great experience for the guests.  They treated each person to a cup of custard complete with toppings including M&Ms with Katlyn & Patrick’s faces printed on them!  How cool is that!  Scoopie, the Culver’s mascot, even made an appearance on the dance floor!

Congratulations Katlyn & Patrick and I hope you had an amazing honeymoon in sunny Jamaica!
