Melissa and Josh’s love story goes so far back that they planned their wedding date for the 10 year anniversary of their first date!  Here’s their story as Melissa tells it.

We met 11/2017 while waiting tables at TGI Friday’s (closed in 2013) in the Richland Mall. We began officially dating on 5/31/08.  Our Wedding date falls on the weekend of our 10 year dating anniversary. We were engaged on 12/24/15 and delayed our wedding date due to the birth of our second child. During the wedding planning experience, we grew together in our faith and after some of the details were in place we decided to re-think the plan for the day so we could be married in the church.  We prepared by taking marriage preparation classes at church with other couples and Joshua plans to begin his journey toward Baptism into the Christian faith over the upcoming year.

I started the day with Melissa and her daughter getting ready at the Hyatt Hotel on Gervais.

The couple’s wedding ceremony was held at the lovely and historic St. Peter’s Catholic Church in downtown Columbia.  

Melissa wore her Mother’s wedding dress and veil.  Melissa’s daughter thought it would be fun to try on Grandma’s dress too.  So adorable.

The handsome little gentleman with the “mustache” is Melissa & Josh’s son.

A few rain sprinkles couldn’t stop this happy couple from celebrating with a few photos outside the church after the ceremony.

We caught a dry moment as the couple arrived at the reception was held at the Camden Shrine Club, so we headed over to the pond behind the hall to take a few more portraits.

The couple had a sweet first dance, followed by the father-daughter, mother-son and Josh and his daughter had a dance too.  

As the evening winded down, we wanted to get just a few more portraits of Melissa and Josh outside.  The rain was very persistent but planner Jessica Kingery of JWK Weddings saved the day with a clear umbrella for us to play with and just in time, the sprinkles lightened and we were even able to grab a few images of the purple sunset.
