Designing a wedding is a great way to show off your personalities and talents. Daisy and Andrew had lots of handmade and antique-style details at their Pine Island wedding. As Daisy mentioned to me in an email recently, she’s an “old soul” and I loved all the classic wedding accents like the little silver teapots that were throughout the reception, the flower girl’s elegant white-glove look and the bride’s lacy headpiece. Daisy’s mom made the stunning paper flowers decorating the photo booth, they had a hand bound guest book made from ragged edge paper, and her sister added crystals to the cake stand to give it a unique look. The artsy couple met and got engaged in an artsy way-
Andrew and I met in a Japanese Art History class at USC four years ago. On August 29th, 2017 he surprised me outside of McMaster, the building we met in, one night after one of my graduate classes had ended. I was walking to my car when he called and told me to turn around, and when I crossed the street he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I said yes of course! You couldn’t have wiped the smile off of both our faces. It was so special for him to have proposed in front of the very same building where we met and it all began.
I love the the flower arrangements that the bride designed including the fireplace and the centerpieces using wooden sola flowers.
As a nod to how they met, Daisy made a Coptic stitch hand-bound guestbook using a Japanese printing making method, She hand printed every single page in a design based off of the wedding suite.
Andrew drew the koozie design for the wedding!
It was a bit windy on this winter day so the ceremony was held inside at Pine Island.
Winter sunsets are the best!
The couple had lots of family members that they wanted photos with, so we spread the groups out throughout the reception.
