Sometimes when you’re helping your friends look for love, you can find it yourself. That’s the story with Megan and Chase. As Megan explains-

We both started out as the wing man to our friends, who wanted to meet up but didn’t want to meet alone. Neither of us were interested in the other, but we started talking on AIM and Yahoo Messenger. 10 years later, we’re getting married.

Megan and Chase love nature and the outdoors so what better place to enjoy natural beauty than at Riverbanks Zoo where the couple spends a lot of their time anyways!  The ceremony was to take place by the bird sanctuary, but they started getting ready at the Hyatt Place hotel in Irmo.

The couple wanted to do a first look so we could do all the family photos beforehand.  Even with the NCAA games in town and tons of visitors at the zoo, we were able to find a quiet spot by the Ndoki Lodge to have a private first look.  Aren’t they sweet?!

The couple had an oathing stone that they held as part of the ceremony.  This was my first wedding ceremony by the bird sanctuary and I love it.  The arbor makes a perfect ceremony spot and the flamingos even gave a little background music during the vows.

Some very tall guests were the first to celebrate with the newlyweds since they had scheduled a giraffe feeding scheduled right after the ceremony and with the first look, we were done with all the family photos!  I love that long black tongue.  He was hungry!

The meerkats, not wanting to be left out, were waiting patiently for the guests to arrive at the Ndoki Lodge for the reception.

What a stunning setting!

Megan’s Dad engraved the adorable cake toppers.

Congratulations Megan & Chase!
