Mary Lee and Hunter’s love story goes way back- all the way back to elementary school! These two have known each other since the 5th grade. They became friends in high school and started dating at the young age of 16! Here’s what Mary Lee had to say about her engagement and wedding plans-
We came to USC together to study music education, and we discovered our love for the Lord and for leading worship together. When Hunter proposed, we were on the top of a mountain at the Mountain Chapel of the camp I grew up going to. We knew that the first thing we wanted to do as a married couple was lead worship together, which is why we are singing in our ceremony. We are so excited to FINALLY get to be husband and wife and serve the Lord together, and we hope that our family and friends can see the love that we have for Him and for each other on our wedding day!
And their love for God, music, their family and each other was evident to all on their wedding day. It was such a joy to be a part of such a heart-felt, moving day! Dave and I really enjoyed telling their wedding story with photos.
One of the prettiest subtle details of the wedding were the delicate sweetgrass roses and springs of cotton worked into Mary Lee’s bouquet, the flower arrangements and the men’s boutonnieres.
Dapper was the word of the day to describe these handsome gentlemen in their grey suits with suspenders and bow ties to match!
The ladies were looking lovely in muted blush pink dresses from Evelyn’s Bridal.
Mary Lee had told me before the wedding that her and Hunter planned to do a prayer together (on either of the door so they didn’t see each other) before the ceremony. This, to me, was one of the most beautiful moments of the day. We made sure they had some privacy and they both exchanged and read letters. Then, Hunter held Mary Lee’s hand and said a prayer. It was a very emotional moment and by the end they were back to laughing together. Such a beautiful series of events that I feel blessed to have been a part of.
The ladies had a prayer of their own while the groom relaxed and practiced his guitar solo for the wedding ceremony.
Unfortunately, as preparations for the ceremony began, rain clouds were rolling in threatening the outdoor plans, so we quickly adjusted and moved everything inside. It was a good choice because about 6:00pm as the ceremony was scheduled to begin, the skies opened up! Thanks goodness for the golf umbrella that I had tucked in my car for just such an occasion!
To share their love of music, the couple sang a song together during their wedding ceremony. So sweet!
After the ceremony, the clouds parted so that we could do a few fun photos with the bridal party and the couple outside!
The newlyweds performed another song together at the start of the reception.
We ran off to the river for a few quick portraits of the bride and groom alone in the warm glow of the sunset.
The couple left to huge crowd wishing them well with a sparkler send off. Congratulations Mary Lee & Hunter!
