Sometimes when you meet someone for the first time you know that its meant to be and sometimes well, it takes just a little while longer.  Jill and Kevin met when they worked at Outback Steakhouse.  Here’s their love story in Jill’s words,

I was a hostess (at Outback) and he was in the kitchen.  If you ask Kevin, he would say he knew he was going to marry me the first time we met, and I would talk about him to the other hostesses…We ended up getting “set up” by some of the people we worked with and have been together since. Now we work at the same place again. I was asked to help out and fill in for a few days while they were between receptionists and it ended up being a good fit and they hired me, so we’ve worked at the same place for more than half of our relationship!

I can see how these two spend time working and playing together, because they have such a great chemistry and you can tell how at ease they are when they’re together.  As the pastor mentioned during the ceremony, he met with them once and could tell they already had the foundation set for what would be a supportive and successful marriage to come!

Jill & Kevin’s wedding took place at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Lexington.  The wedding felt a little like a photo family reunion to me because I had photographed 3 family member’s weddings over the past few years and it was so great to see everyone together again.  Jill & Kevin have some adorable nieces and nephews who seemed to enjoy every part of the wedding day.

The burgundy bridesmaid dresses from White House Black Market were a great fall color choice!

Jill made a sweet memorial frame for her Father that passed away when she was younger to keep him as part of the wedding day.

The tears in the church started early because of the beautiful songs that Jill and Kevin had chosen for the Mom’s entrance, but it was hard to keep a dry eye watching Jill escorted in by her two brothers and Kevin’s sweet reaction.

Portraits in church

I love the look of the old and new churches that Pilgrim Lutheran combines so we took portraits inside the new sanctuary after the ceremony and outside the old church’s big red doors!

The reception was held at the nearby River Road and Jasmine Houses venue.

I think Jill surprised everyone by taking the smash option with the wedding cake.  I love the reactions of the people behind her!

Another surprise was when the garter catcher, Jill’s brother, was set up to put the garter onto the bouquet catcher’s leg and they quickly replaced the girl with the groom.  The look on his face when he touched those hairy legs was priceless!

This was such a fun wedding.  I hope they’re having a blast on their honeymoon cruise!  Congratulations Jill & Kevin!
