Brantley and Meredith met online but lived 3 hours apart so they built a friendship over the phone before they even had a face to face relationship.  They dated long distance while Meredith finished school. When she finished classes in May of 2017, she moved in with Brantley and his 5 year old daughter, Kylynn, in Walterboro, SC.  Meredith’s graduation party weekend presented Brantley with the perfect opportunity to pop the question! As Meredith tells it,

I graduated on August 12, 2017 finally so we could be together after 2 long years of distance. On our way back home to Walterboro on August 13, 2017, he pulled off the interstate to Dreher Island State Park where he made me take our book-bag of snacks to go sit on the dock and watch the sunset (to distract me while get got the ring from the car). He then turned me around on the dock because he was too nervous to go all the way to the end and drop the ring, and all that could come out of his mouth while we both were in shock and crying was “will you spend the rest of your life with me” and I just blubbered “yes” as we both just hugged and cried.  People always say their significant others are their best friends, but we truly are each other’s best friends.

And there were so many ways you could tell these two are meant to be together- from the emotion Brantley had as Meredith started her walk down the aisle, to the attention they both gave to little Kylynn throughout the day, and definitely the way they simultaneously broke into an air guitar duo during the reception.

The wedding was held at the lovely River Road and Jasmine House.  The fall colors are particularly stunning at this venue.

Lacy dress detail and wedding hankerchief...

Brantley was looking sharp in his peacock bow tie, pocket square and hand-made boutonniere created by his mother.

His daughter, Kylynn, was cute as can be in a dress made by Meredith’s grandmother.

Meredith’s family did her gorgeous hair and makeup and her “Belle” (of Beauty and the Beast)-inspired dress was magical!

The candlelight ceremony was held in the garden.

This group was SO much fun on the dance floor!  It’s easy to see they were having a great time.
